If you have three or more unresolved parking tickets, beware!
“Nassau County is targeting traffic scofflaws by hiring a private firm to locate, boot, and tow vehicles that have three or more unresolved traffic violations,” reported CBS.com. Nassau County Comptroller, George Maragos told 1010Wins “we are implementing a number of strong enforcement actions and the last thing we want to do is inconvenience them and have their vehicles towed... We need to get serious and they need to step up to their responsibility and pay their outstanding fines.”
The booting program is set to being the second week of March.
“Well you can kick and scream, but you know, at the end of the day, you better pay your tickets or like you said it’s gonna cost you more money when they boot you,” said a Long Island Driver, (CBS.com).
According to Newsday and CBS New York, removing the boot will cost $150; retrieving towed vehicles will cost $125, plus $20 per day for storage.

A private company to do this seems to be a great solution but I wonder if it's not too expensive for local authorities.....I got only one traffic ticket Toronto until now but I paid it right away because I was guilty...
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't pay a ticket and try to dismiss it if I'm not guilty but if I am, as a responsible citizen I have to pay....
This is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING because it's akin to BLACK MAIL. First of all your NOT driving when you're using your car for personal pleasure or business.. LOOK IT UP!
ReplyDeleteSecondly, they're holding your car for RANSOM of illegal charges because you're always ASSUMED to be guilty until proven innocent otherwise they wouldn't JAIL your car!!
Thirdly, I had recently looked up on Nassau's ticketing website which shows ALL tickets that are UNPAID and NONE of the alleged tickets attached to my license plate shows up!
THis is COMPLETE BULLSHIT and it cost us almost $800 fucking dollars to get this shit off my car.
I've been to the courts several times last year alone and even the DA said that I had NO MORE outstanding tickets, so it's NOT just some website glitch either!
