Soccer superstar David Beckham dream of being a part of the 2012 London Olympics was shattered last night when he found out he would not be a part of the 18 man squad. Beckham, age 37, was raised near the Olympic Park in London and helped bring the 2012 games there.

Beckham commented on the situation stating he would’ve loved to be a part of the team and it would’ve been in honor to represent his country. However, he adds that the team will have a no bigger supporter than him.

June is NationalPost-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month.  In recognition of PTSD, Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano is partnering with counseling and treatment centers to highlight all of the services that are available to those individuals affected by the disorder.

In their lifetime, one in thirty adults will be diagnosed with PTSD. Overall, twice the number of women will suffer from PTSD than men. Some of the leading factors that cause PTSD are stress of a war, a difficult job market and many others. Many people aren’t diagnosed with the disorder and are unaware there is treatment available for them.

County Executive Edward P. Mangano commented on the issue saying, “I urge all who may be suffering from this debilitating disorder to utilize the professional mental health services and resources that are available in our region. I am proud of this partnership as we work together to support all of our residents in Nassau County.”

Many people throughout our nation celebrate both Independence Day and Memorial Day, yet they forget about celebration of thebirthday of the stars and stripes! This year, Flag Day is today June 14th.Sadly, most Americans do not celebrate the day nor know when it is! Flag Day isnot an official federal holiday, so there is no day off or overtime pay grantedto employees on this day.

What is the true meaning of Flag Day and why is June 14th significant? June 14th is historic because it was on that day thatthe Continental Congress passed an official resolution in 1777 that the flag ofthe United States would be 13 stripes alternating red and white, the unionwould be 13 stars white in a blue field representing a new constellation.  The flag also represents the people. The red and white stripes represent the original thirteen colonies and the stars represent every new state that entered the union.

"I'll Have Another" Will Try To Make History This Saturday at the Belmont Stakes!

(516) 319-5822
www.TrafficTicketNassauCounty.com

This Saturday June 9th is the official date of the 2012 Belmont Stakes. What sets this upcoming race apart from previous years is that there is a chance for a possible Triple Crown winner!

“I’ll Have Another” is set out to try and win the Triple Crown title this weekend in the Belmont. Only a few other horses have acclaimed this title including Citation, Secretariat and Seattle Slew.

Many believe the reason it is so difficult for horses to win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and the Belmont Stakes is because there isn’t enough time in-between races for the horses to recoup. There is two weeks from the Kentucky Derby to the Preakness and three more until the Belmont. Others believe it’s the difference in distance that the horses run in each race.

Trainer of “I’ll Have Another” Doug O’Neill set out to get his colt to Belmont Park in Long Island as soon as possible to get the horse acclimated with the track. “I’ll Have Another” arrived in Long Island the day after the victory at the Preakness.

“I’ll Have Another” is just one horse in the eleven horse field. Some of the other competitors in the race include Dullahan, Five Sixteen, Ravelo’s Boy, and Guyana Star Dweej.

Who do you think will win the Belmont Stakes? Will you be watching? Are you attending? Let us know on Traffic Ticket Nassau County’s Facebook Page linked here
