Nassau
County has recently set up a headquarters for disaster relief to help victims
of super storm Sandy. The Mega Hurricane
Sandy Recovery Center opened this past Monday at Cedar Creek Park, located in
Seaford.
The center includes a Red Cross
Food and Drink Distribution Center as well as a free mobile laundry facility to be
utilized by the public. Representatives
from several of our nation’s largest insurance companies are present to offer
advice on how to properly file an insurance claim for property damage from
Sandy.
FEMA representatives are also
present to help people register for disaster aid, housing and rental
assistance. All residence who are in
need of assistance are encouraged to find their way to the relief center and
utilize what is being offered.
