Cutting Down On… Safety?

(516) 319-5822

Due to Nassau County’s current budget deficit of $310 million, County Executive Ed Mangano is trying to make big changes to Nassau’s police precincts (wpix.com).

The county legislature will be voting on a plan to convert four of the eight precincts into community police centers (wpix.com).

Areas such as Elmont, Baldwin, and Manhasset will only be staffed by two officers around the clock, leaving police labor union official’s very concerned (wpix.com).

If the plan is approved, it will be the biggest change in the Nassau County Police Department in 87 years!
