Last week, The New York City Board of Health placed a ban on the sale of super-sized sugary drinks in NYC. Since then, the ban has created much controversy.

The Board of Health placed this ban in effort to help curb the obesity epidemic in our country.  Supermarkets and convenient stores are exempt from the ban because only places that receive letter grades from the Health Department are included. The ban will allow these sugary drinks to be sold in containers no larger than 16 ounces.

Do you think the sugar ban will ever become effective in Nassau County? Do you think the ban will help stop the obesity epidemic in our country? Let us know your thoughts on our Facebook page, linked HERE
