Nassau
County is putting their best effort forward to try and keep The New York Islanders in Nassau County. Leading the effort is Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, as reported by Newsday! The discussion has been put to
standstill for quite some time since Mangano proposed a plan in January to
renovate or build a new arena in place of Nassau Coliseum.
As
of now, the highest bidder will be the single developer of the construction site
and will have control of the project as long as it meets The Town of Hempstead’s zoning regulations for the land.
One of the most important aspects at this
point is the winning bidder for the project must begin negotiations soon after
the Islanders are guaranteed to stay in Nassau County!
What
are your thoughts? Do you think the Isles should stay in Nassau? Do you think a
new coliseum should be built? Let us know your thoughts or concerns on our
